Help for Products Order Process Automation



Purpose of this Process

Here we take the case of a production unit that delivers its products after constructing them. The order form allows the user (associate) to enter one or more products. The manufacturing lines work independently in parallel (so the manufacturing for all products starts simultaneously). After we have manufactured the last one for the products, then transportation of them takes place.

How Process Owner Starts the Process

On the left top side of the screen, press “Start Process“ and select “NEW ORDER.“ In the emerging form, put a “customer“ and some products to construct. After completing, press the button “Post Changes“ in the left top corner of the form. The Process starts. You, the starter, are the “Process Owner.“

What the Process Members do

The system issues as many tasks (Activities) as the number of products in the order form. All Activities at the same time. The system assigns the Activities to the associate having the role “PRODUCTION.“ So from the menu, select “Activity,“ and then from the emerging form, select the Activity that contains the production of a product. By double-clicking this Activity, a form opens on the right of the screen. This form contains the subject of the Activity and in the lower part contains the “Job Material.“ Here in “Job Material,“ one or many forms are contained that are related to Activity. The first (and only) form of “Job Material“ has already opened in the center of the screen (in all cases where the “Job Material“ contains only one form, this form will be opened by the system automatically). Adjust whatever you want in the Activity (attach files etc.), and then, if you made changes, press “Post Changes.“ Then, after you have closed (finished) what the Activity requires, you can press the “Forward“ button in the right placed “Activity“ form. After that, the Process will proceed further. Every associate that works on an Activity is named “Process Member.“ A Process Member is every user (Associate) that assigned and closes (finishes).

After the last one of the parallel Activities has been closed, the system automatically issues an Activity to “TRANSPORTATION.“ Thus, the associate responsible for transportation closes his Activity as soon as he finishes the transportation of products.

Closing of Process

The Process Closes (finishes) when the last Activity (transportation) is closed.

Process Activities Monitoring

The “Process Owner“ acts as a “client“ to the rest of the “Process Members“ (he is the one that wants the “product“ delivered in time). So, during the Process‘s progress from the menu and “Processes“ sees all processes that he is Owner. So the question of where are which Activities answer on this browser.
